The fresh seafood in Yurihama is outstanding. Fresh caught oysters melt in your mouth, the flounder caught nearby is light and sweet, and the crabs from just down the road are rich and delicious. The restaurants below are some of my favorites, but there are many other delicious restaurants. In addition, many of the Japanese-style inns include amazing meals with the cost of staying.
Luau is located directly across from the Aloha Hall and keeps the Hawai region's aloha spirit burning bright. They offer a mixture of Japanese and Hawaiian food. The owner visited countless restaurants in Hawai'i while perfecting his recipe for the Hawaiian dish Loco Moco.
Toan
Tucked into a white building on the corner of the main intersection of the Hawai Hot Spring, Toan would be hard to find if it wasn’t for the huge crowds who go to enjoy the affordable and delicious food. The Japanese pub-style food is rich and satisfying and boasts locally caught fish. A mixture of tourists and locals makes for a lively, friendly atmosphere.
Makoto Sushi
This sushi restaurant in the Hawai Hot Spring is delicious and affordable. Travelers looking for an authentic sushi experience should stop here.
Baku-san
This colorful and interesting ramen restaurant awaits travelers on Route 9. Experience new and interesting variations of ramen. Boldly flavorful ramen surprises and delights ramen veterans and newbies alike.
Hiruzen Shokudo
A local favorite, Hirzuen Shokudo offers yakiniku (self-barbequed meat). Conveniently located at the center of town, this restaurant is a must-visit for meat lovers.
Maki
This restaurant, found in the first floor of the Tsumura Building in Kurayoshi, features yakitori and kushiyaki (skewered meats and vegetables). I make sure to stop there when I visit Tottori.
A Variety of Cuisine
Many different tastes await those who want to do a little exploring. For starters, several delicious Chinese food restaurants (especially in the area around Ryuhokaku) offer tempting treats. Fine dining and several cafes, fast food restaurants, and other treats are also available as well.
